Standard socket head cap screws (Allen screws) have a cylindrical head with a flat top surface, chamfered corners, and a recessed hexagon. The cylindrical cap is usually knurled on the outside. The cap can be above the surface or recessed into a countersunk hole. Ideal for precision assembly work and applications requiring a neat, refined appearance, standard socket head caps offer a clean look and high strength. Standard head caps are made from alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and silicon bronze. Available finishes include black oxide, zinc plating, and plain finish, while most standard fasteners meet ASME B18.3, DIN 912, or Din 912/ISO 4762 specifications. An Allen wrench (hex key) is required for installation and removal.
